Water Planning

IWRA Regional Water Planning Committee

At the Indiana Water Resources Association (IWRA) fall business meeting on October 29, 2018, there was a lively discussion concerning state-wide water planning in Indiana. In that meeting and in a follow-up vote of the full membership, IWRA members endorsed the concept of water planning regions with the following statement:

“The Indiana Water Resources Association supports a state-wide water planning initiative that includes the designation of water planning regions to address water resources quality and quantity questions.”

It was agreed that as a follow-on to the vote, IWRA would identify volunteers to form a committee for further conversation to guide this effort. An objective of the committee is to serve as a resource for the state of Indiana as it moves forward with water-planning initiatives, should our expertise be desired. The following IWRA members comprise the committee, and this page includes notes and resources relevant to our discussions on this topic.
